Roseburg Police jailed two people for depositing trash within 100 yards of water on Thursday.

An RPD report said at 10:30 a.m. the 44-year-old man and 39-year-old woman had their camp sprawled over an area of about 45 feet by 12 feet near the intersection of Northwest Renann Street and Northwest Stewart Parkway. Both have been warned and cited multiple times for littering in this same general area over the last month.

There was trash scattered all around the area, which was about 75 feet from the edge of Newton Creek.

Both were taken to corrections. A search of the man reportedly revealed some methamphetamine, so he was also charged with unlawful possession of meth. Both people were detained without bail. The man was released on Friday.
