Roseburg Police jailed a man for offensive littering and cited a woman for prohibited camping on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 2:50 p.m. the 58-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were called in for pulling trash out of the trash cans at Fir Grove Park in the 1300 block of West Harvard Avenue.

When officers arrived, the woman was bedded down on cardboard under blankets in the pavilion and the man was seated on a bench next to her.

The man admitted to pulling the trash out of the cans while looking for food and also to leaving the trash on the ground.

The man was taken into custody. Bail was set at $1,000. The woman was cited and released on the scene.
