ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR LITTERING/CAMPING INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a littering and camping incident on Thursday.

An RPD report said at 9:00 a.m. the 56-year-old was contacted camping behind the library in the 1400 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. The man had his camp set up about 20 feet from the edge of Deer Creek.

His camp consisted of about one truckload worth of trash. The trash consisted of household garbage, soiled clothing, food waste, furniture pieces, and food packaging.

The man was charged with a criminal count of prohibited camping, and depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway. He was detained on $2,000 bail.
