A woman was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident on Friday.
A Sutherlin Police report said at 5:30 p.m. the woman’s pickup ran out of gas at the corner of Parkhill Lane and West Central Avenue. Citizens were helping her push her vehicle to a gas station as she was steering the vehicle from outside the pickup. The vehicle veered left and went over the curb, striking a telephone cable junction box.
The report said that when this happened, the motorist tripped and fell. The rear driver’s side tire rolled over her leg and pinned her arm to the curb. Another passerby pushed the truck forward slightly with a vehicle to free her arm.
The woman was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
