ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL ONE, CITE ONE FOR PROHIBITED CAMPING

Roseburg Police jailed one man and cited another for prohibited camping on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 12:00 p.m. the 45-year-old and 26-year-old were contacted at their camp, which was set up outside of Legion Field fencing and concealed by trees, in Stewart Park in the 1000 block of Northwest Stewart Park Drive.

There were multiple small branches, which were freshly cut surrounding the camp site. The older man admitted to cutting the branches with a small saw he had. A records check revealed the man had four prior convictions for prohibited camping while the younger man had one.

The 45-year-old was detained on $5,000 bail. He was cited and released for possession of restricted weapons/tools on city property. The 26-year-old was cited and released on the scene.
