FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH 7:00 A.M. SUNDAY FOR SOUTHERN OREGON

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for much of southern Oregon through 7:00 a.m. Sunday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

The Warning area includes Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Coos, and Curry counties. It applies to Roseburg, Grants Pass, Coos Bay, Sutherlin, Reedsport, Cave Junction, North Bend, Winston, Coquille, Myrtle Creek, Bandon, Myrtle Point, Canyonville, Riddle, Drain, Yoncalla and Glendale.

Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

Motorists should turn around when they encounter flooded roads. Observed flooding should be reported to local emergency services or law enforcement.
