Two people were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday morning.
A Roseburg Police report said at approximately 9:20 a.m. a 24-year-old Roseburg man was northbound on Northeast Stephens Street when he approached the intersection with Kenneth Ford Drive. A pickup operated by a 46-year-old Oakland woman was heading southbound and was in the turn lane to travel onto Kenneth Ford Drive. That driver made the turn on a flashing yellow light, causing the two vehicles to hit head-on.
When an officer arrived, both drivers were lying on the ground with injuries. They were transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. The officer determined that the second driver had a warrant, so she was cited and released, due to her injuries. Her charges included driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to obey a traffic control device.
The first driver was charged with driving uninsured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Traffic on Stephens Street was rerouted through the Costco parking lot for a time while the accident scene was cleaned up.
