Roseburg Police jailed a man for a parole violation on Tuesday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 12:10 p.m. officers contacted the 56-year-old after a caller said there was suspicious activity in the 1700 block of Southeast Mill Street. Officers noticed the man walking around a residence with a 22-caliber pellet rife. His parole officer issued a detainer for the possession of the weapon.

He was taken into custody without incident and detained without bail.
