ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL WOMAN FOR PROHIBITED CAMPING

Roseburg Police jailed a woman for a criminal count of prohibited camping on Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 11:20 a.m. the 40-year-old had a small camp set up facing the west wall of the Roseburg Public Library on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. The camp consisted of tarps attached to the brush. Cardboard and bedding was set up behind the tarps. The woman claimed that she didn’t believe she was camping, because she did not sleep there the previous night. The woman had four prior convictions for prohibited camping.

She was taken to corrections. Her camp was cleaned up with her possessions for safekeeping transported to RPD. Bail was set at $5,000.
