SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING ALLEGED DUII INCIDENT TUESDAY NIGHT

Sutherlin Police jailed a man following an alleged DUII incident on Tuesday night.

An SPD report said at 9:10 p.m. the 25-year-old was allegedly driving recklessly in the 3500 block of Fort McKay Road in the Oakland area. Officers located the man in the 400 block of West Central Avenue in Sutherlin and observed impairment.

The driver reportedly performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DUII. He allegedly refused a breath test and was held at corrections, pending a search warrant for blood. The search warrant was granted, and blood was collected at CHI Mercy Medical Center.

The man was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and unlawful possession of a firearm. The last charge was due to a gun reportedly being found in his pocket. Bail was set at $22,500.
