Roseburg Police jailed one person and cited another following a littering incident on Tuesday morning.

An RPD report said at 10:10 a.m. a 39-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man were contacted at their camp next to a store in the 3100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. The camp had been set up for a few days and was along the west bank of Newton Creek, partially blocking the sidewalk. The report said there was a huge amount of trash surrounding the camp, with some of it tumbling down into the creek.

The woman was charged with depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway. Bail was set at $2,500. She was cited for prohibited camping. The man was cited on the same two charges and cleaned up the remaining mess.
