Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported assault incident on Friday night, one of two times that he was arrested between then and early Sunday.

An RPD report said just after 7:15 p.m. officers responded to the Adapt Behavioral Health motel after a caller said there had been an assault. Officers learned that a 32-year-old man had allegedly punched a victim in the face, leaving an approximately 2-3- centimeter gash on the victim’s left temple.

The suspect was charged with fourth-degree assault. Bail was set at $6,250. He was released on Saturday.

Early Sunday officers contacted the man inside Jack in the Box in the 1400 block of Northeast Stephens Street after he had previously been trespassed from the location. Officers were called after the man refused to leave when asked to by employees. While taking the suspect into custody, he reportedly became non-compliant, and a brief scuffle ensued. The man was taken into custody and a small amount of methamphetamine was allegedly located in his pocket.

He was charged with resisting arrest and second-degree criminal trespass. The man was cited for unlawful possession of meth. He was detained without bail.
