ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN AFTER VEHICLE IS DRIVEN INTO WALL

Roseburg Police jailed a man after he drove his vehicle into a wall on Thursday evening.

An RPD report said just after 7:00 p.m. officers responded to the 400 block of Southeast Jackson Street after the sedan hit a wall next to Dino’s Restaurant. The 37-year-old man allegedly showed signs of impairment and admitted to taking medications two hours prior to driving. The medication’s label stated if could cause drowsiness and to use care when operating a vehicle.

The man performed standard field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Once at corrections, he requested an attorney. A search warrant was authored and granted, and a blood sample was obtained from the driver. His vehicle sustained front end damage and was parked legally on the street.

The man was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants. and reckless driving. Bail was set at $16,250.
