IDLEYLD PARK MAN DIES IN SEDAN VERSUS MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

December 6, 2024 3:40 a.m.

An Idleyld Park man died in a sedan versus motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 2:00 p.m. troopers responded to the crash on Highway 138E in Glide.

The preliminary investigation indicated that an eastbound vehicle, driven by 75-year-old Ronald Grubbs of Glide, was attempting to turn left into the parking lot of a business. The sedan entered the path of a westbound motorcycle, operated by 26-year-old Reuben James Wiles, causing the motorcycle to impact the passenger side of the sedan.

Wiles was declared deceased at the scene. Grubs and the passenger in his vehicle  were both reportedly uninjured.

The highway was impacted for approximately 4 hours by the on-scene investigation. The primary cause of the crash is considered to be an unsafe turn.

OSP was assisted by the Glide Rural Fire Protection District and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
