A semitruck driver died in a freeway crash late Monday night.

An Oregon State Police report released Wednesday said just before 11:45 p.m. troopers responded to a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 5 southbound near the Anlauf/Lorane exit in north county.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a southbound commercial motor vehicle and trailer, operated by 51-year-old Sargis Sargsyan, of Glendale, California, left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck the rear end of a parked commercial motor vehicle and trailer, occupied by two residents of Rockville, Maryland.

Sargsyan was declared deceased at the scene. The occupants of the other commercial vehicle were reportedly uninjured. The highway was not impacted by the on-scene investigation.
