An Air Stagnation Advisory has been extended through 4:00 a.m. Saturday in much of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said valley locations may see poor air quality. This is due to an inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface that will continue to trap pollutants.
The Advisory area includes Douglas, Josephine, Jackson and eastern Curry counties. It applies to the Umpqua, Illinois, Applegate and Rogue valleys.
Forecasters said poor air quality may cause issues for people with respiratory problems. Those with respiratory illness should follow their physician’s advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air.
