Christmas tree permits are available for the 2024 holiday season at Umpqua National Forest Ranger stations, through a number of local vendors and online at: https://www.recreation.gov/
A UNF release said customers can purchase up to five permits per household, at $5 each, through December 31st. These permits authorize purchasers to cut their own trees on designated Forest Service lands. Maps identifying these areas, as well as additional rules and information, will be provided at the time of purchase.
Christmas tree tags will be offered online with a $2.50 service fee. It provides visitors with an opportunity to purchase and print permits from the convenience of their own homes. This provides an alternative to in-person transactions that are completed at ranger stations that are open at varying times, depending on location.
A list of vendors selling Christmas Tree permits is posted at www.541radio.com
