WINSTON CITY COUNCIL STILL SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR COUNCILOR

The Winston City Council is still seeking applicants for a Ward II councilor position.

A city release said the seat was vacated November 4th by Alesha Anderson, who has moved out of the area.

Current city projects include a Safe Routes to School project and a major westside sewer infrastructure and roadway improvement project. Both projects are nearly 100 percent grant funded.

The current term for the vacant seat expires at the end of 2026. The council meets twice per month in addition to other individual tasks assigned by the mayor such as being a liaison to a committee. Applicants should be ready to commit 10 to 15 hours per month. The deadline for applying is December 2nd at 5:00 p.m.  Interviews will be held at the December 2ng city council meeting. Applicants must have lived in Ward II for the previous twelve months prior to the date of appointment.
