Roseburg Police cited a woman after his vehicle hit a light pole on Monday.
An RPD report said just before 1:00 p.m. the 20-year-old driver got turned around downtown and was driving the wrong way on Southeast Stephens Street near Southeast Cass Avenue. The woman quickly turned west on Cass Avenue to avoid a crash and lost control of her vehicle.
It struck a city owned light pole on the south side of the street near the alley. The pole was sheared at the base but was still upright. Public Works and Pacific Power were called to the scene to determine the best course of action, as the sedan remained in a hazardous manner against the pole and was still hot. The vehicle was heavily damaged and both air bags deployed.
The woman was cited for driving the wrong way on a one-way street and for driving uninsured. She was released at the scene.
