ROSEBURG MAN TAKEN TO HOSPITAL FOLLOWING ALLEGED DISTURBANCE

A Roseburg man was taken to the hospital following an alleged disturbance early Sunday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 12:30 a.m. a victim was house sitting a residence in the 100 block of Lynn Court in the Winchester area.  A 38-year-old man arrived at the location reportedly extremely intoxicated and with another female. The man and the victim allegedly got in a small physical altercation which led to the victim locking the man out of the house.

The report said the suspect then broke out all the windows to a second victim’s vehicle, broke the window on the front door to the house, and then forced his way back inside. The man then allegedly went to the kitchen, grabbed a steak knife, and stabbed himself twice in the torso.

When a deputy arrived, the suspect said he had stabbed himself in an attempt to kill himself. He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He is listed in stable condition at last check, according to a hospital spokesperson. A peace officer’s hold was placed on him. Both victims said they did not want to process charges.
