Sutherlin Police jailed a man Sunday for a prior alleged criminal mischief incident.
An SPD report said on November 5th 51-year-old Shawn Vorhis allegedly shot a pellet gun at a business, shattering the front door, in the 400 block of South Calapooia Street. Through video, Vorhis reportedly came back through and pulled into the parking lot of the store. It was determined later that Vorhis was the sole occupant of the vehicle just minutes before this occurred.
On Sunday, Vorhis was located at a business in the 1000 block of East Central Avenue. The man was with his vehicle, which allegedly had the pellet gun visible inside. Vorhis was taken into custody. A search warrant was applied for and granted. Inside the vehicle three pellet guns, 14.3 grams of methamphetamine and several pellets were reportedly located. The man allegedly had a large-fixed blade knife in his pocket.
Vorhis was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of meth, carrying a concealed weapon and being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon. He was detained without bail.
