The Oregon State University Extension Forestry and Natural Resources program will hold a succession planning workshop series called, “Ties to the Land” this winter.
An extension release said one in-person workshop will be offered on January 10th with four optional lunch-and-learn webinars offered beginning later this month.
“Ties to the Land” is for all landowners – whether it be forest, pasture, farm or a mix – considering how to pass on their land or associated business. The workshops will help participants think through the social, financial, and legal aspects of succession. Worksheets help participants refine their goals, take stock of assets, and sketch out a timeline, while case studies bring the lessons home.
The in-person workshop will be held Friday, January 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the OSU Extension annex on Southeast Douglas Avenue, next to the courthouse in Roseburg.
Lunch-and-learn webinars will be recorded and available to all who enroll in the series. They will be offered on Tuesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.:
*November 29th: Options for succession of the land
*December 10th: Family meetings
*December 17th: Unexpected partner loss
*January 7: Professionals viewpoint on ownership options
The cost to attend is $50 per family and/or business partners for the property. Pre-registration is required by January 8th. To register or learn more, go to: https://beav.es/Gi7
