Roseburg Police arrested a man for unlawful possession of a Schedule II controlled substance early Friday.

An RPD report said at 2:55 a.m. the 35-year-old was contacted while his vehicle was sitting in a lane of travel with the hazard lights on in the 400 block of West Harvard Avenue. Upon contact, the driver was found to be slumped over the console and appeared to be passed out.

Officers opened the door to conduct a welfare check, and the man came to almost immediately. Officers reportedly observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. The man was allegedly found to be in possession of fentanyl.
