The Umpqua Valley saw the highest one-day rainfall amount in months on Wednesday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that 1.23 inches of rain was recorded at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That compares with 0.94 inches of precipitation measured on November 1st. Roseburg last saw over an inch of rain in one day back on March 1st when 1.06 inches of precipitation was recorded.
Around the region on Wednesday, only North Bend Airport received more rain, measuring 1.37 inches.
Showers continue Thursday and into Friday before a brief break in the moisture is slated to take place between late Friday and most of Saturday. Another front will then move into the region bringing rain beginning late on Saturday.
