The U.S. Forest Service will offer a saw class that covers the basics of bucking for trail maintenance, for both chainsaw and crosscut saws, on Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th, at the Diamond Lake Ranger Station.
Trails and Wilderness Technician & Volunteer Coordinator Lauren Hack said attendees will most likely leave with a certification that allows them to operate a saw to do trail maintenance on the forest. Hack said Saturday will be in the classroom covering the basics of bucking, and Sunday will be the field certification. Participants must be up to date on their First Aid/CPR certification to participate in the field certification.
The class will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. To RSVP, email: lauren.hack@usda.gov.
