Two people were charged for an alleged harassment incident on Friday afternoon.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at approximately 4:15 p.m. a 57-year-old woman went to a house in the 5000 block of Grange Road in Green, with a moving truck and several friends, preparing to move out.
54-year-old Derek Carter arrived at the location as the truck was being loaded. The man allegedly pulled out a gun while telling the woman’s friends to leave or he would shoot them. Carter reportedly pointed the weapon at one of the friends. He eventually put the gun away and started unloading the truck.
The woman confronted the man and tried to stop him from removing the items. She allegedly scratched Carter while the man hurt the woman’s finger in the scuffle.
Carter was taken into custody. The firearm was removed from his truck. It was a loaded .22 caliber 1911 pistol. Carter had two other firearms in the vehicle that deputies took for safe keeping. He was charged with two counts of menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, pointing a firearm at another and harassment. Carter was detained without bail.
The woman was cited and released for harassment.
