A transient was jailed following an overnight disturbance incident early Saturday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 2:00 a.m. a caller claimed that the 27-year-old had tased him in the neck while they were hanging out together in the 15000 block of Old Highway 99 North in the Oakland area.
The caller said he was in a room with a witness and out of nowhere the suspect punched him in the face and tased him in the neck for 5 to 6 seconds. The victim had welts on his neck which were consistent with being tased.
The suspect denied tasing the victim at first but eventually said the victim threw the first punch before the suspect tased him. A witness said he did not see the fight, but heard punches being thrown and the taser going off.
The transient was taken into custody and charged with harassment and unlawful use of a stun gun in the second-degree. He was detained without bail.
