The Salvation Army of Roseburg will have their “First Ring”, soon, kicking off the iconic Red Kettle campaign for 2024 here in Douglas County.
A release said the holidays officially begin when you hear the bells ringing beside Salvation Army red kettles. It’s a sound that calls people to spread Christmas joy to those in need. This season, with inflation impacting so many families, joy is needed more than ever. Every year from November through Christmas Eve, the world-famous red buckets can be found outside thousands of storefronts across the country. Those who drop a donation into a kettle or give online are joining a more than a century-long tradition of generosity.
The First Ring event will showcase the work for Douglas County residents over the past year and highlight the effort for the year to come. It will be held November 22nd at 9:00 a.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse on Southeast Douglas Avenue in downtown Roseburg.
