COOS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SEEKING MISSING CHILD

Officials with the Coos County Sheriff’s Office are continuing the search for a missing child.

CCSO Public Information Officer Christopher Gill said 5-year-old Joshua James McCoy took a nap with his mother at their residence on Stage Road in the Hauser area at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. When the mother woke up at 5:00 pm. Joshua was missing.

Gill said the child has autism and should answer to “Josh” or “Joshie”. He is autistic and may not respond when called to.

Joshua is 3 feet 6 inches tall, weighs between 50 and 60 pounds with a skinny or thin build. He has brown eyes and brown shoulder length-straight hair with a fair complexion.

Lieutenant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that DCSO Search and Rescue has sent a crew to help with the search. O’Dell said numerous other counties in the region are assisting in the search as well.
