DRIVER JAILED FOLLOWING SINGLE-VEHICLE ROLLOVER CRASH

The driver was jailed following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Thursday night.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 7:30 p.m. troopers responded to the accident on Highway 38 near Scottsburg. Scene evidence indicated that a sedan was traveling eastbound when it left its lane of travel, went down a steep embankment on the eastside of the highway, and then rolled to an uncontrolled rest.

Upon contact with the driver, the 41-year-old man allegedly displayed signs of impairment. The man was ultimately arrested for DUII and transported to the Reedsport Police Department for further investigation. He was subsequently criminally cited for driving under the influence of an intoxicant and reckless driving. The man was also cited for driving while suspended-violation and driving uninsured. He was detained at the Reedsport Municipal Jail.

The vehicle was towed from the crash scene.
