A Yoncalla man was jailed for driving while suspended Thursday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 8:30 p.m. a deputy observed a pickup heading northbound on Interstate 5 with a license plate that was almost unreadable. After running the plate, the deputy noticed that it was registered to a different vehicle.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and contacted the 60-year-old. The man explained that he knew he should be driving, but didn’t know why the wrong plates were on the back and front of the vehicle. The deputy checked on the driver’s status and learned that his license had been revoked since 2008. The man was taken into custody on the driving charge. He was also issued several traffic violations. The man was detained without bail and was released Friday morning.
