The Douglas County Board of Commissioners would like to remind residents that most county offices will be closed on Monday for Veterans Day.
A county release said that includes offices at the courthouse, Justice Building, fairgrounds, landfill and transfer sites and all external county government offices.
The Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History, as well as the Umpqua Lighthouse Museum in Winchester Bay will be open for visitors on Monday. County operated campgrounds will be open. Salmon Harbor Marina docks, boat ramps, camping sites and the Winchester Bay RV Resort will be open and accessible to the public during that time. The Salmon Harbor Marina Office will be closed.
Even though the Sheriff’s Office lobby entrance will closed on Monday, deputies, communications and DCSO staff will continue to provide law enforcement protection and emergency assistance for residents. Those who have an emergency can still call 911. Those with a need for non-emergency help can call 440-4471.
The commissioners encourage residents to attend the 69th annual Douglas County Veterans Day Parade on Monday starting at 11:00 a.m. This year’s theme is “Vietnam Beyond 50 Years – Welcome Home”. The parade will follow the traditional route through downtown Roseburg.
