On Monday at their regular meeting, the Winston City Council declared a vacancy for a Ward II seat on the council.

City Manager Thomas McIntosh said the seat was formerly occupied by Alesha Anderson, who will be moving out of the area. Her term expires at the end of 2026.

Those interested are encouraged to submit an application listing their qualifications, interests and why they would like to be on the council. Applicants must have resided in Ward II for a least 12 months prior to the date of appointment.

The deadline for submitting applications is November 15th at 5:00 p.m.
