OREGONIANS SAY NO TO 3 OF 5 STATEWIDE BALLOT MEASURES

Oregon voters said no to 3 of 5 statewide ballot measures on Tuesday. In Unofficial General Election Results from the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office as of 3:00 a.m. Wednesday:

Voters passed Measure 115 which amends the state constitution to authorize impeachment of statewide elected officials by the Oregon Legislature with two-thirds vote by each House and establishes the process for doing so. The measure passed 63 percent to 37 percent.

Measure 116 which would have amended the state constitution to establish an ‘Independent Public Service Compensation Commission’ lost 53 percent to 47 percent.

Measure 117 which would have given voters the option to rank candidates in order of preference went down to defeat, 60 percent to 40 percent.

Measure 118 would have increased the highest corporate minimum taxes, distributed revenue to eligible individuals and had the state replace reduced federal benefits. It went down to defeat 79 percent to 21 percent.

Measure 119 mandates that cannabis retailers/processors remain neutral regarding communications to their employees from labor organizations. It passed 55 percent to 45 percent.
