ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN ON THEFT AND WEAPONS CHARGES

Roseburg Police jailed a man on theft and weapons charges, following an incident on Friday night.

An RPD report said just after 7:00 p.m. offered responded to Goodwill in the 2400 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway after 42-year-old Christopher Colt Jr. was detained by loss prevention for allegedly shoplifting.  While officers were enroute, staff called back to say that Colt was reportedly fighting with employees. He was detained by the time officers arrived.

Officers learned that metal knuckles and two butterfly knives allegedly fell out of Colt’s pockets while he was fighting. Officers determined the suspect was a felon and was restricted from possessing such weapons. He was also found to have two warrants for his arrest. Colt complained of a hernia injury during the fight with employees.

He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center where he was treated and cleared by a doctor. Colt was taken to corrections and charged with third-degree theft, being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon, carrying concealed weapons, and for two warrants. Colt was detained on $9,000 bail.
