The Umpqua Valley Farmers Market has announced its official relocation to downtown Roseburg starting this Saturday.
Board President Erin Maidlow said after years of growth and support from the community, this move represents a new chapter for the market. Maidlow said it will offer expanded opportunities for local farmers, artisans, and the public to connect in downtown Roseburg.
The new market location is on Southeast Jackson Street, between Southeast Oak Avenue and Southeast Washington Avenue. Maidlow said this will provide a vibrant, centrally located space with improved accessibility for vendors and visitors alike. The location is expected to enhance foot traffic, create greater visibility for local businesses, and further strengthen Roseburg’ downtown as a hub for community activity.
Maidlow said, “This move will not only benefit our vendors but also provide the community with easier access to fresh, local produce and homemade goods. We look forward to creating a lively market atmosphere in the heart of downtown”.
The market will continue to operate on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. As always, it will feature a wide variety of locally grown produce, meats, dairy products, baked goods, handcrafted items, food trucks and live music. In addition, Maidlow said the move downtown will open up new opportunities for partnerships with local businesses.
To celebrate the grand opening at the new location Saturday, the market will offer special activities, including live music with Twisted Pick, pumpkin soup samples, fresh apple cider samples, and more.
Maidlow said this move downtown marks an exciting evolution. She said the Market Board and staff are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and are working closely with the City of Roseburg, the downtown business and market vendors to plan the move.
