NEARLY 40 PERCENT OF COUNTY BALLOTS HAVE BEEN TURNED IN

October 31, 2024 4:00 a.m.

Nearly 40 percent of registered voters have turned their ballot in, in the 2024 Douglas County November Presidential General Election, as of Wednesday evening.

County Clerk Danial Loomis said 39.85 percent, or 35,795 county ballots have been received. Loomis said that lags 17.91 percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the previous 2020 Douglas County November Presidential General Election.

It is now 5 days from Election Day. Registered voters who have not received their ballot, should contact the Elections Office. Loomis said the voter’s signature on every ballot return envelope is checked by trained staff against the voter registration signature. If it doesn’t match, the voter is notified and has 21 days after the election to provide a matching signature.
