SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL WOMAN FOR ALLEGED ASSAULT INCIDENT

Sutherlin Police jailed a woman for an alleged assault incident Tuesday night.

An SPD report said just after 11:00 p.m. the 28-year-old suspect and a victim were involved in a disturbance in the 100 block of Southeast First Avenue in Oakland. The woman was allegedly highly intoxicated and was also under the influence of marijuana. She reportedly became violent with the victim, stabbing him in the head and arm with a broken, glass marijuana bong, causing lacerations which required staples and stiches. The victim was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center by ambulance.

The woman was charged with second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. The woman was detained without bail.
