RPD arrests woman on forgery and theft charges

A Roseburg woman was arrested for allegedly attempting to pass counterfeit bills at a restaurant on Harvard Avenue Monday morning.

Roseburg Police responded to the business just before 9 a.m. The 40-year-old woman allegedly tried to use a counterfeit bill to pay for more than $20 worth of food. Officers also reportedly found the woman in possession of a counterfeit $10 bill.

The woman was lodged at the Douglas County jail on charges of first-degree forgery, criminal possession of a forged instrument, third degree theft and third-degree theft of services. She has since been released.
