NEARLY 32 PERCENT OF BALLOTS RETURNED IN DOUGLAS COUNTY

Nearly 32 percent of local ballots have been returned for the 2024 Douglas County November Presidential General Election, as of Monday evening.

County Clerk Daniel Loomis said 31.54 percent, or 18,842 ballots have been received. Loomis said that lags 14.94 percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the previous 2020 Douglas County November Presidential General Election.

Loomis said it is now one week from Election Day. What this means for voters:

*Registered voters who have not received a ballot should contact the Elections Office.

*Reissued or replacement ballots will no longer be mailed. Voters must come to the office to pick them up.

*Those who must the U.S. Postal Service should mail their ballot one week in advance of Election Day to be safe.

*For ballots taken to the post office this close to Election Day, voters should ask workers to stamp with envelope with a hand-cancelation stamp. A ballot with a postmark after November 5th will not be counted.
