Nearly 17 percent of ballots have been returned for the 2024 Douglas County November Presidential General Election, as of late Thursday afternoon.
County Clerk Daniel Loomis said 16.91 percent, or 15,172 ballots have been received. Loomis said that lags 13.08 percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the previous 2020 Douglas County November Presidential General Election.
Loomis said voters should ensure they read the Voter’s Statement, which they are attesting to when they sign their ballot return envelope. No one else can sign the ballot on behalf of a voter, even if there is a power of attorney in place. The ballot will not be counted without the voter’s verified signature on the ballot return envelope.
