THRIVE UMPQUA/ADAPT HOLDING WALK OUT ON TOBACCO

October 23, 2024 3:05 a.m.

Thrive Umpqua and Adapt Integrated Health Care are presenting a Walk Out on Tobacco this Saturday at the Glide High School athletic fields.

The second-annual event is held to honor the 450 lives lost to tobacco in Douglas County. Participants can walk or run around the school’s track anytime between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. for their chosen number of miles. The event will continue virtually until a goal of 450 combined miles is reached.

Several community organizations will have resource booths where people can get more information about tobacco prevention.

Participation is free. To register for the event, go to: bit.ly/walkoutontobacco
