ROSEBURG POLICE CITE TWO PEOPLE FOR PROHIBITED CAMPING

Roseburg Police cited two people for prohibited camping, in separate incidents on Monday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 3:40 p.m. a 41-year-old man was contacted at his camp in Gaddis Park, in the 800 block of Northwest Highland Street. The camp was set up 70 feet from the water’s edge below the ball fields. He had tarps attached to the trees, items outside of his tent, and camp his camp set up after 8:00 a.m.

At 4;20 p.m. a 64-year-old woman was contacted in her camp at the Stewart Park frisbee golf course in the 2000 block of Northwest Stewart Park Drive. The camp was set up less than 10 feet from the creek and 50 feet from the South Umpqua River. The camp was set up after 8:00 a.m. and there were totes and other items outside the tent.

Both were cited and released on the scene.
