ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED STRANGULATION INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged strangulation incident early Saturday.

An RPD report said at 5:00 a.m. a victim claimed the 24-year-old pushed her to the ground and pressed his arm against her throat, causing her to not be able to breathe. This allegedly took place in the 400 block of West Umpqua Street.

The victim had a physical injury consistent with a physical altercation between them, but the suspect denied the incident. The altercation allegedly took place in front of juveniles, both of whom are age 5 and under. The man was ultimately arrested and charged with strangulation and harassment. He was detained without bail.
