Detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team arrested two people following a pursuit incident, and seized drugs and firearms on Friday afternoon.

DINT Commander Lieutenant Rick McArthur said the task force has been investigating the recent alleged illegal activities of 50-year-old Glenn Gearhart of Bell Gardens, California. McArthur said detectives received information that Gearhart was a very dangerous individual who recently moved to Douglas County and was in possession of several firearms and was routinely selling large amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl in the greater Roseburg area.

On Friday, detectives obtained a search warrant for Gearhart, as well as his apartment in the 100 block of Page Road in Winchester.

McArthur said at approximately 4:40 p.m., detectives located Gearhart leaving his residence, driving a late-model Jeep Cherokee. Detectives asked for assistance from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to help get Gearhart stopped and detained. Detectives had reason to believe Gearhart was in possession of illegal firearms and large quantities of narcotics and was considered armed and dangerous. Gearhart was reported to have made statements that if he is caught again, he would go to prison for the rest of his life, and therefore he would not be taken alive.

McArthur said deputies attempted a traffic stop on Gearhart on Northeast Stephens Street near Northeast Exchange Drive. Gearhart failed to yield to deputies, and a pursuit ensued. Gearhart led deputies through the north Roseburg area which eventually went to the neighborhood areas of Northeast Alameda Street and Northeast Vine Street. His vehicle eventually hit a curb, causing damage to it. His Jeep was still somewhat functional, and he continued to flee. Gearhart turned onto Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard from Vine Street and sideswiped an uninvolved vehicle near the intersection with Northeast Stephens Street. There Gearhart was slowed by traffic congestion and deputies were able to pin his vehicle with patrol vehicles in front and behind. Gearhart was initially non-compliant but eventually gave up and was removed from his vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed several firearms and a large sum of cash. A Glock handgun returned as stolen from Los Angeles, California.

Detectives returned to Gearhart’s residence on Page Road to conduct a search. There they contacted and detained 34-year-old Hannah Fallert.

A search of the home revealed a large cache of narcotics to include: 608 grams of suspected fentanyl, 734 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 51 grams of cocaine, 369 dosage units of alprazolam and 12.5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Gearhart was jailed on charges of attempting to elude police, multiple counts of recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, unlawful manufacture, possession and delivery of methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl, unlawful delivery of the drugs within 1,000 feet of a school, 4 counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree theft by receiving, and unlawful possession of a short barrel firearm. He was detained without bail.

Fallert was charged with unlawful possession and delivery of fentanyl, and unlawful delivery of it within 1,000 feet of a school. She was also detained without bail.

McArthur said DINT is continuing the investigation into Gearhart’s alleged distribution of controlled substances that may be related to an ongoing overdose investigation. Additional arrests are anticipated.
