The Umpqua National Forest has a number of volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
A UNF release said while formal volunteer events slow down during the winter months, the work still continues.
Upcoming volunteer opportunities include:
*Dorena Genetic Resource Center is seeking volunteers this Wednesday and the second Wednesday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to help with various nursery tasks including transplanting, pruning, thinning, spacing, fertilizing and weeding. ‘Glide Ranger Station Visitors Center has been open 7 days a week thanks to volunteers. It will close for the season at the end of October and resume being open next April. Those interested in helping can reach out as a team is being built for next season by emailing: misti-kae.n.bucich@usda.gov
