SWATTING AT SPIDER BLAMED FOR SEDAN VERSUS SEMI-TRUCK ACCIDENT

Swatting at a spider is being blamed as the cause for a sedan versus semi-truck and trailers accident on Highway 138E, about 30 miles east of Glide, on Thursday morning.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 11:50 a.m. the sedan was westbound when it exited the right side of the roadway and went into a shallow ditch. The operator overcorrected to the left and went into the eastbound lane. The vehicle struck the semi which was pulling two trailers. There was damage to the truck as that is where the sedan impacted.

The driver of the sedan said he momentarily took his eyes off the road to deal with the spider, which was on his arm, when the accident took place. The driver and his passenger, and the truck driver, were not injured.

The sedan and truck both had to be towed.
