UMPQUA RIVER CLEANUP COMING SUNDAY OCTOBER 13TH

The 40th annual Umpqua River Cleanup is scheduled for Sunday October 13th.

An Umpqua Watersheds release said the event offers volunteers an opportunity to help protect and preserve of one of Oregon’s most beautiful and vital waterways, from the headwaters to the sea.

The event is organized by Umpqua Watersheds and supported by Thrive Umpqua, Native Fish Society and SOLVE. It invites community members to spend the day making a positive impact on the river’s health.

Volunteers will fan out across multiple sections of the Umpqua River to pick up litter, remove invasive plants and clear debris. Participants should bring gloves, water bottles, sunscreen, and clothing suited for outdoor activities. If needed, trash bags are available at the Umpqua Watersheds office at 539 Southeast Main Street in downtown Roseburg.
