Sutherlin Police jailed a man for warrants and a weapons violation on Saturday afternoon.

An SPD report said at 4:50 p.m. during a traffic stop in the 1200 block of West Central Avenue the 41-year-old was taken into custody. He is prohibited from possessing a firearm per a court order for a prior conviction.

The man was detained on $6,250 bail. He was released on Monday.
