ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY INTO A MOTOR VEHICLE

Roseburg Police jailed a man Monday night for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.

An RPD report said at 7:00 p.m. officers contacted 49-year-old Jason Roland because he was suspected of breaking into a vehicle and stealing a wallet. Roland was Mirandized and reportedly admitted to breaking in the SUV, stealing the wallet, and making multiple purchases with credit cards from the wallet.

Roland was also seen on camera making a purchase with one of the credit cards. His camp along the 2000 block of Northeast Douglas Avenue was also full of trash and debris scattered within it. Roland admitted the camp was his and it was within 100 yards of a waterway.

Roland was also charged with three counts each of second-degree fraudulent use of a credit card and identity theft, second-degree theft and deposit of trash within 100 yards of a waterway. He was detained without bail.
